Capstone Search Advisors is partnering with a leading food manufacturing organization to identify an experienced Quality & Food Safety Manager. This role is responsible for ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality, regulatory compliance, and food safety. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and can drive continuous improvement across quality systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the site’s Quality and Food Safety programs, including HACCP, GMPs, SQF/BRC, and other regulatory requirements.

  • Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of the facility’s food safety plan.

  • Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, state, and local food safety regulations.

  • Conduct internal audits, prepare for external audits, and lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

  • Manage QA technicians and lab personnel, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Lead root cause analysis efforts for quality deviations and customer complaints.

  • Collaborate with production, R&D, and supply chain teams to improve product quality and process efficiency.

  • Maintain documentation, quality records, and compliance standards.

  • Provide training to staff on food safety, sanitation procedures, and quality system requirements.

  • Serve as the primary contact for regulatory and third-party inspections.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

  • 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing quality assurance or food safety roles.

  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, PCQI, GMPs, FSMA, and GFSI schemes (SQF/BRC).

  • Experience leading audits and managing compliance programs.

  • Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment.

  • Strong understanding of microbiology and food processing technologies.

  • Prior experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
