Job Title: Senior Operations Manager
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
 
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Operations Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our metal manufacturing plant. This role is responsible for ensuring optimal performance in production, quality, safety, and cost efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in industrial manufacturing, strong leadership capabilities, and a hands-on approach to operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee end-to-end plant operations including production, maintenance, logistics, and quality assurance.

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity, reduce costs, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.

  • Lead a team of department managers, supervisors, and production staff to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly targets.

  • Monitor KPIs and operational metrics; identify gaps and drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).

  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Quality, HR, and Supply Chain to support business objectives.

  • Manage budgets, resource allocation, and capital projects related to plant operations.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, performance, and employee engagement.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.

  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.

  • Strong knowledge of metal fabrication, casting, or machining processes.

  • Proven track record of managing plant operations with significant throughput and headcount.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with ERP systems, production planning tools, and data analytics.

  • Certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies are a plus.
