Position Summary:
The Hot End Process Engineer is responsible for optimizing and maintaining the performance of the hot end operations in a glass manufacturing facility. This role focuses on improving process efficiency, quality, and safety through technical expertise, data analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. The engineer works closely with production, maintenance, quality, and safety teams to ensure stable and cost-effective operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and analyze the hot end process to ensure quality and efficiency.

Lead root cause analysis for production issues related to the hot end, including defects, downtime, and equipment failures.

Implement and sustain process control systems and best practices to improve product consistency and operational reliability.

Develop and support training programs for operators and technical staff on hot end processes and standards.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute projects involving new product introduction, equipment upgrades, and process changes.

Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, etc.).

Maintain and improve documentation, including process parameters, SOPs, and work instructions.

Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations related to high-temperature operations.
Qualifications:
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
-
2–5 years of experience in a high-temperature manufacturing environment, preferably in glass forming or similar hot end operations.

Experience with forming equipment (e.g., IS machines), mold setup, and hot end inspection systems is highly desirable.
Skills & Competencies:

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Familiarity with statistical process control and data-driven decision-making.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and engineering tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).

Understanding of safety standards and practices in high-temperature industrial settings.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or similar methodologies.

Knowledge of glass composition and forming dynamics.
-
PLC and control systems knowledge.
