Our client is a well-respected Columbus-based law firm that is expanding its Family Wealth Planning practice group and searching for a motivated, detail-oriented attorney who is ready to deliver exceptional legal services to their valued clients. Family Wealth Planning Associate candidates can expect to collaborate with a talented team and contribute to the continued growth of the firm's trusts and estates practice while having opportunities to advance toward partnership.

What You Will Do | Role Responsibilities

Cultivate current client relationships and attract new clients through networking and marketing activities.

Manage and independently handle all aspects of the following:

A/B trust plans.
-
Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts.
-
Gift Trusts.
-
Irrevocable Grantor Trusts.
-
Private Settlement Agreements.
-
All paths of estate administration.
-
Guardianships (person and estate).
-
Gift tax return preparation.
-
Federal estate tax return preparation (including portability).
Maintain and develop relationships with referral sources and clients.
Participate in public speaking engagements annually, contribute to newsletters monthly, and support all other marketing and business development activities sponsored by our practice group.
Collaborate, communicate, and cooperate with the firm's Family Wealth Planning team on assigned cases.
About You | Qualifications

Juris Doctorate Degree from a nationally accredited law school.

Licensed to practice law in the state of Ohio.

At least five (5) years of trusts and estates experience.

Competence in estate and gift tax return preparation. Fiduciary income tax and probate litigation experience is a plus.

Active involvement in the local probate bar and commitment to trusts and estates practice.

Strong research, legal writing, organizational, and case management skills.

Ability to handle complex matters independently and work collaboratively in a team environment.

Entrepreneurial-minded approach toward developing new client relationships.
