Experienced Litigation Paralegal for a business-oriented law firm
Our client is a growing, Cleveland-based law firm, that is expanding their commitment to providing market-leading in-house eDiscovery services and technology to support their firm’s internal users and provide tremendous value to their clients. This is a newly created Paralegal position in the firm's litigation practice group that focuses on their client’s ESI eDiscovery needs. This position will work with our client's existing highly experienced litigation support team and is supported by their knowledgeable and responsive IT department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the firm’s eDiscovery practice and will work with the other team members to grow the firm’s eDiscovery capabilities.
Responsibilities include:

Complete requests from attorneys, fellow paralegals, and clients, coordinate with eDiscovery vendors, and work collaboratively with other eDiscovery support personnel to promote the effective use of electronic discovery support applications throughout the firm.

Oversees the management of multiple litigation matters/cases/projects through the electronic discovery lifecycle, providing daily and ongoing technical and operational guidance to attorneys on all aspects of the process.

Work with attorneys and clients on data identification, preservation, and collection issues.

Coordinate the receiving of client’s unprocessed ESI data or processed ESI and load files.

Process eDiscovery data, including initial discovery, deduplication /deNISTing, metadata extraction, OCR, data filtering, and document imaging.

Perform Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) on processed or produce data.

Assist attorneys and paralegals in analyzing and reviewing the client’s ESI data using the firm’s eDiscovery review platforms.

Complete the document production through the use of the review platform.

Coordinate the delivery of the produced documents to appropriate parties.

Work with the IT department to help troubleshoot technical and logistical issues related to eDiscovery.

Provide users support and training on the eDiscovey review platform and process.

Maintain department-related eDiscovery policies and procedure documentation.
-
Assist attorneys in depositions, witness preparation, and research.
-
E-filing with Common Pleas and Federal Court systems.
-
Draft complaints, correspondence, and pleadings.
-
Organize and maintain case files.
-
Coordinate with Legal Assistants and other staff.
-
Prepare and handle trial exhibits.
-
Assist attorneys during the court proceedings.
Required Skills and Experience:
-
Litigation paralegal experience with emphasis on e-discovery, case management, and trial preparation [minimum of three (3) years] preferred.

Knowledge of the processes underlying litigation cases (electronic discovery, document productions, document repositories, and deposition transcripts), public records requests, and EDRM life cycle.

Knowledge of eDiscovery policies, requirements, and best practices to provide expertise for creating new policies or creative solutions.

Experience in the use of eDiscovery processing platforms such as IPRO eCapture or LAW PreDiscover.

Experience loading, reviewing, and producing documents in review platforms such as IPRO Eclipse or Relativity.

Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word) and basic Windows operating system tasks.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
-
Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree with a focus of paralegal studies.

Paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited program.

In-courtroom trial experience
-
Proficiency with forensic tools like FTK, Cellebrite, and Encase.

Specific experience in document production (bates stamping, confidentiality logos, data compression, production requirements for government entities such as DOJ).

Familiarity with:
o Legal holds / document retention orders
o Hard drive, cloud, and server storage solutions
o Organization email and data retention policies

Experience with technology assisted review (TAR) or machine learning/artificial intelligence document review technology.

Experience with trial preparation tools such as Trial Director
Job Details:
-
This job is a full-time day shift position based in downtown Cleveland, Ohio headquarters.
-
Morning, evening, and weekends paid overtime will be occasionally required to perform various tasks. This overtime may be performed onsite or remotely, depending on the need.

The opportunity for work from home availability a few days per week is dependent on project-specific needs.
