Job Description

Job Title: Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager
Location: Concord, NC Area
Department: Operations / Manufacturing
Reports To: Plant Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on and data-driven Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager to lead Lean, Six Sigma, and operational excellence initiatives at our facility near Concord, NC. This role will drive measurable improvements in productivity, quality, safety, and cost by implementing structured CI methodologies across manufacturing, supply chain, and support functions. The ideal candidate will be a skilled facilitator, coach, and change agent with a passion for developing a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and sustainability of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives across the site.

  • Identify improvement opportunities in processes, workflows, and systems to reduce waste and increase efficiency.

  • Facilitate kaizen events, root cause analysis sessions, and value stream mapping workshops.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to drive improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC).

  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), tracking progress toward improvement goals.

  • Train and mentor employees at all levels in CI tools and methodologies, fostering a problem-solving culture.

  • Drive standardization of best practices across departments and document improvements accordingly.

  • Report regularly on CI progress, project ROI, and future opportunities to senior leadership.

  • Support capital investment projects with process improvement insights and efficiency metrics.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of manufacturing or operations experience with a strong focus on continuous improvement.

  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt required (Black Belt preferred).

  • Proven success in leading cross-functional CI initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Excellent facilitation, coaching, and change management skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite; experience with ERP and CI tracking tools preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in automotive, industrial equipment, or consumer goods manufacturing.

  • Familiarity with ISO/TS standards and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing setting.

  • Experience with training program development for CI education.
